Full Job Description

As a Democratic Services apprentice, you'll support how the Council makes decisions and runs its meetings. This is a great opportunity to learn how local government works while gaining practical experience in a busy team. You'll help with a range of tasks, including:

  • Helping elected Members with information and queries
  • Keeping records and information up to date
  • Supporting online meetings and livestreaming
  • Getting involved in civic and community events

    Through our Step In Apprenticeship Programme, we are looking for a motivated and curious Business Administration Apprentice to join our Democratic Services and Scrutiny Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable skills while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of council services and a practical understanding of Democratic Services and Scrutiny - not just the theory, but how it works day-to-day in a busy public sector organisation., Is interested in how local councils and democracy work
