Delivery Manager

Are you an experienced people leader with a passion for quality, compliance and developing others? At Tarmac, we are looking for a Delivery Manager to lead the operational, quality and governance performance of our accredited training centre. This is a highly influential role where you will ensure that vocational training, assessment and assurance activities are delivered to the highest standards, supporting the development of our workforce across the UK. Leading a team of specialists and working closely with trainers, assessors, awarding organisations and business stakeholders, you will play a critical role in maintaining regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring outstanding learner outcomes As Delivery Manager, you'll oversee a large-scale operation delivering approximately 400 vocational qualifications and 3,000 mobile plant licence assessments each year, helping to build capability across one of the UK's leading construction materials businesses. What You'll Be Doing In this key leadership role, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Tarmac accredited centre, ensuring compliance with awarding organisation, regulatory and internal governance requirements
• Oversee training, assessment and quality assurance activities, maintaining high standards of consistency, integrity and audit readiness
• Manage the approval, onboarding and ongoing quality assurance of trainers, assessors and associates, ensuring they meet required qualification, competency and professional standards
• Act as a key contact for awarding organisations and external quality assurance bodies, coordinating evidence, actions and responses
• Lead internal quality assurance processes including standardisation, observation, sampling and performance reviews
• Monitor delivery performance across vocational qualifications and mobile plant licence assessments, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for improvement
• Use data and management information to support decision-making, performance monitoring and operational planning
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, compliance and capability across the accredited centre
• Lead, coach and develop a team of professionals, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance
• Build strong relationships with operational, learning and compliance stakeholders, providing expert guidance on accredited centre standards and quality requirements
What We Are Looking For We're looking for a confident and credible leader who combines operational excellence with a strong commitment to quality, compliance and people development.


• Significant leadership experience with a proven ability to develop teams, drive performance and create an engaged, accountable culture
• Experience working within a regulated, accredited or quality-assured environment
• A strong background in training delivery, vocational assessment or learning and development
• Knowledge of quality assurance, audit requirements, assessment practices and compliance frameworks
• A Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent qualification)
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and learning methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a broad network
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, using data and insight to drive performance improvements
• The ability to balance operational priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and governance
• Experience coaching and developing others, helping individuals and teams reach their full potential
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally when required
