Degree Apprentice Fire Engineer

We're hiring two Fire Engineering Degree Apprentices to join Bureau Veritas in 2026. As part of our Fire Engineering team, you'll play a vital role in creating safer environments while developing into a qualified Fire Engineer. About the apprenticeship You'll complete a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), combining classroom learning with hands-on experience. Programme highlights, As a Degree Apprentice Fire Engineer, you'll be learning on the job while contributing to real projects. You'll:

• Support the design of fire safety strategies across a variety of buildings and projects
• Assist in developing fire safety reports, drawings, and technical documentation
• Learn how to apply UK and international fire safety regulations
• Develop knowledge of smoke modelling, evacuation analysis, and fire protection systems
• Work alongside experienced Fire Engineers, gaining hands-on experience from day one

  We're looking for curious, motivated individuals who are ready to commit to a long-term professional pathway.
You'll ideally have:
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
• A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (Maths or STEM preferred)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A genuine interest in engineering, safety, or the built environment
• The ability to balance work and academic study
• Willingness to travel to Preston for block-release study
