Full Job Description
We are looking for a Defects and Aftercare Manager to provide expert technical advice on the new build programme, ensuring effective quality control and compliance with all construction-related matters. Lead the defects management process while maintaining excellent customer care., Serve as the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders to resolve defects within the 12-month contractual defect period.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage defects, end of inspections and improve KPI performance and reporting.
- Ensure effective contract management and contractor performance during the defect period, monitoring trends and producing reports for data analysis.
- Manage the resolution of outstanding defects through external contractors or the CHP in-house team, ensuring value for money and recharging the original contractor as needed.
- Offer expert advice on new build component warranties during the defects period, acting as lead officer for CHP Group's NHBC builder responsibilities.
Experience in team management within new homes industry or similar sector. - Strong construction knowledge, particularly regarding defects and issues in new residential builds; building materials, trades and construction methods.
- Familiarity with processes for defect resolution and customer service in a construction setting.
- Confident in liaising with customers and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality work with an emphasis on excellent customer service
- Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations, statutory requirements, construction warranties and building control.
- Strong project and contract management skills.
