dedicated Sheltered Living Officer

Warwick District Council is looking for a dedicated Sheltered Living Officer to join our Independent Living team. This rewarding role involves working directly with residents across our sheltered living complexes and designated accommodation, helping them maintain their independence, sustain their tenancies, and access the services and support they need.

You will build trusted relationships with residents, provide practical advice and assistance, undertake wellbeing and support assessments, carry out health and safety inspections, coordinate repairs, respond to emergency Lifeline telecare activations, and work closely with colleagues, contractors, statutory agencies, charities and support organisations to achieve positive outcomes for customers.

This is a varied and highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for ensuring our sheltered living environments remain safe and welcoming, maintaining accurate customer records, supporting resident engagement activities and meetings, and acting as an advocate for some of the Council's most vulnerable tenants. The role requires excellent communication skills, sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to work independently whilst managing a busy and diverse workload.

We're looking for someone educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) with at least three years' experience delivering customer-focused services and a minimum of two years' experience working with older and/or vulnerable people. You'll have outstanding customer service skills, strong organisational abilities, excellent record keeping and IT skills, and the confidence to make decisions and solve problems independently. Experience of organising community or resident activities would be advantageous. The post involves working at weekends on a rota.
