Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a playworker at North Tyneside Council, supporting our successful, fun and inclusive Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
We are looking for confident, motivated and pro-active individuals with an excellent understanding of play. In addition, you will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills and have the highest regard for customer care.
The service is about giving children and young people opportunities to access enriching activities during the school holidays. As a playworker, you will have the chance to positively influence children and young people, and give families excellent holiday experiences which improve health, wellbeing and educational attainment.
When talking to children and families about this service, they highlighted how it helps them to build confidence, socialise more, learn new skills, have fun, exercise more, feel safe and have less screen time. One parent said: 'My son loved it, he lacks confidence but this really has helped bring him out of his shell'.
