Applications are invited from experienced senior leaders in specialist education for the key post of sole Deputy Headteacher in this fully inclusive, pupil centred specialist school for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years of age with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, co- existing Autism, complex needs and complex medical needs. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who can come up with innovative ideas and who can see the bigger picture, but who can also drill down on the detail to successfully implement whole school initiatives, to achieve strategic objectives They must be a skilled teambuilder, comfortable with both supporting and challenging colleagues and working with multidisciplinary teams of people as well as external professionals to drive improvement. This post will encompass a blend of two days teaching as well as curriculum, pastoral, personal and administrative responsibilities/accountabilities to improve the outcomes of all pupils
within school and these will be negotiated with the successful candidate, based on their strengths and interests and the specific needs within the senior leadership team (headteacher, deputy headteacher and four assistant headteachers). This post is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to positively develop their career by making a significant personal contribution to the continued development and success of Beacon Hill School.
