Job Description
This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Under the Data Protection Act, data subjects have a right to access and copies of their records. This role is to assist in the provision of these records.
You will be required to work as part of a small team, communicating effectively and courteously with a wide range of internal and external personnel. You will be involved in all aspects of locating personal files, both physical and electronic, and preparing them for disclosure to a tight deadline. You will need to work on your own initiative to prioritise, assist with the management and allocation of the administrative workload within clearly defined policies and procedures, and understand when to seek assistance.
You must clearly and accurately identify information that will be released to outside agencies and individuals, restricting information where appropriate, adhering to the Data Protection Act 2018, UK General Data Protection Regulation, and Access to Health Records Act 1990. You will record all requests on Datix (reporting system), receive, log, and action incidences of misfiled personal identifiable information. Additionally, you will take calls from the public, solicitors, and the Police in response to their requests.
