Full Job Description
This role is responsible for managing internal and external suppliers to ensure agreed service levels and quality standards are consistently met. It requires strong problem-solving capability, working closely with developers to lead incident and problem management for data-related issues. The position also involves monitoring and maintaining data service activities, including routine administration, application maintenance, and addressing product faults to maintain reliable operations. You will provide technical leadership across data products, promoting industry best practice and ensuring solutions deliver clear value. The role also includes shaping and championing new product functionality, supporting its adoption and expanded use across BAE Systems to enhance data capability and performance. Core duties:
- You will be supporting product delivery teams with future data services deliverables ensuring seamless product transition into service
- You will be passing on and documenting critical skills relating to the use of BAE data products for other department staff and to enhance the full spectrum of internal developers' skill range
- You will be working closely with other key enablers (IM&T) and standard setters (Shared Services D&A Architecture team) to adhere to the BAE Systems relevant IT Policy, Operational and Governance framework
- You will monitor the infrastructure and maintain the Service provided by Shared Services Data & Analytics with regards to all elements relating to data products
- You will represent and own actions from internal department projects and procedures in relation to the promotion and improvement of BAE data products
- You will lead on upgrades for data products in line with BAE Systems requirements, The team are focused on the delivery, support and maintenance of the Enterprise Archive (Solix application) service across BAE Systems. As an Enterprise Archive Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering value to the customer base, providing technical support and adhering to industry best practise on all Archiving products used across the service. - You will have familiarity with data pipelines and ETL concepts
- You will have experience with scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Python)
- Extensive problem solving and analytical skills in relation to data products
- You will have experience in SQL DB basics, indexing, performance tuning, metadata management
- You will have experience of working within an ITIL based service environment (Using service technologies such as Service Now, JIRA, Confluence etc .)

Salary: £50,000+ depending on skills and experience
