We offer a good 3-bedroom house on the farm, an excellent remuneration package and regular time off., This is the home farm unit, running with an emphasis on forage/grazing and set to run with a sister unit with 340 crossbred cows block calving in the autumn period on each site. There is an excellent mix of responsibilities which includes some milking, with a focus on fertility, grassland management on the original unit with TMR feeding and some associated stock work across the two.
The herds are managed on a forage-based system with the housed period on sand cubicles with semi TMR feeding; the yields are around 8,500 litres a cow. Milking is through a superb 24:48 parlour, DTL with ACR's, complete with autoshedding, heat time and state of the art handling facilities; the home farm also includes excellent calf rearing facilities, silage clamps and feedstores which cater for both units.
This position offers the benefit of a seasonal workload and hence much easier summer months, along with a good 3-bedroom house on the farm, an excellent remuneration package and regular time off.
