CX605 Two PAs

CX605 Two PAs needed for a fun-loving 12 year old boy for 6hrs pw term time & 12hrs in school holidays HU5 area, The role will involve supporting him safely during activities and helping him enjoy his time outside the home. He needs 2:1 support because he can become overwhelmed or dysregulated, particularly in busy or unfamiliar environments. He uses a wheelchair when needed. If he becomes overwhelmed, he may need to use his wheelchair to help him move safely from one place to another and to provide him with a safe and comfortable way of travelling. He is verbal and uses a few meaningful words to communicate. Staff will need to be patient and attentive to his individual ways of communicating and understand that he may not always be able to express what he needs verbally., It is important to note that Choices and Rights are not the employer, we act on the employer's behalf and we cannot be held responsible for any actions arising from your employment. Previous experience supporting autistic children or young people would be an advantage, although the most important qualities are patience, compassion, reliability and a willingness to understand his needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping a young person access the community, have enjoyable experiences and develop confidence in a safe and supportive way. Car drivers with access to their own transport would be preferred. The successful applicant will be prepared to have a DBS check.
