Curriculum Manager - Hair & Beauty

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department's strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring Curriculum Lead with a background in Hair & Beauty, ensuring that the standards and the quality of teaching and learning are constantly improved and that all members of staff work towards delivering excellence.,

• Deliver a flexible and innovative curriculum that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners.
• Continually improve standards of course performance and teaching and learning across all areas within the curriculum area.
• Provide clear leadership to all the staff within the curriculum area so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.
• In conjunction with the relevant Curriculum Leaders and Co-ordinators to agree targets for the recruitment and success of students at course level (including performance in English & Maths).
  
  Has a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Holds an appropriate teaching qualification such as DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent;
• Proven track record and experience of managing people to achieve excellent standards of teaching and learning.
• Has a good knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting teaching and learning within the curriculum area and affecting the FE sector in general.
• Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
• Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.
• A good working knowledge of quality assurance processes within an FE setting.
• Proven track record in a Curriculum Manager (or equivalent) role.
• Experience of working with employers and service providers designing programmes to meet needs.
• A sound knowledge of the current hairdressing, beauty and media make-up qualifications as part of a study programme to successfully prepare students for industry and/or higher education
