Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and ambitious Curriculum Leader to drive the development and delivery of our Dance provision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape an innovative and industry-relevant curriculum that prepares dance performers in a variety of disciplines for successful careers in a rapidly evolving artistic landscape. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Music, Sound and Performing Arts, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Dance, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and artistic development. You will lead curriculum innovation, foster professional partnerships, and create an inspiring learning environment that supports excellence, creativity, and inclusion. You will combine leadership responsibilities with a substantial teaching and coaching commitment, including programme leadership and oversight of student performance projects, productions, and showcases. This role presents a significant opportunity to influence the future direction of Dance training, contributing to the continued growth, reputation, and success of the department.,
- Leading curriculum planning, development, and continuous improvement within Dance
- Ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, coaching, and assessment
- Developing programmes that reflect current industry practice and professional expectations
- Monitoring and improving student engagement, retention, progression, and achievement outcomes
- Coordinating performances
- Leading quality assurance activities, including internal moderation, standardisation, and external reviews
- Overseeing course documentation, schemes of work, learning resources, and digital content
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of Dance programmes, rehearsals, and performance opportunities
- Building relationships with industry professionals, dance companies and external partners
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding responsibilities
You will be a passionate and knowledgeable Dance practitioner with experience of delivering high-quality teaching that inspires, challenges and motivates learners to achieve their full potential. You will have a strong understanding of contemporary practice and be able to support students in developing their skills across a range of disciplines, guiding them towards progression into continuing education and creative industries. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be committed to inclusive teaching, student well-being and maintaining high standards of achievement. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, embrace innovation in teaching and learning, and be enthusiastic about contributing to a vibrant and ambitious creative community.
