Full Job Description

The post holder will join the Critical Care Technology team. The team sits within the Clinical Engineering section of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department. The section is responsible for providing a range of medical equipment management and governance services as required by the Trust and by national guidance and law.
The post is for a skilled, experienced and self-motivated Critical Care Technologist, to ensure that medical devices used in the care of critically ill patients are safe and effective, and to provide support in the application of the devices at the patient's bedside.
The post involves working with other healthcare professionals in clinical areas and across the Trust, so excellent communication skills are
essential. You will need to deliver and coordinate training to clinical staff and your team as necessary. You will be expected to form relationships with the clinical leads in all areas covered by the team.
You must be familiar with a range of medical devices used in critical care environments, particularly ventilators, monitoring and infusion devices, and should have experience of providing technical support at the bedside.

We are looking for a Senior Critical Care Technologist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the largest healthcare provider in southwest London and one of the UK's major teaching hospitals.
The Critical Care Technology team are a group of technologists and Healthcare Scientists responsible for the safe and effective provision of medical technology in critical care areas, Emergency Department, and other wards dependent on critical equipment. The team are physically based in each of these areas as resident technical experts.
The team also hosts Critical Care Science trainees on the prestigious and competitive Scientist Training Programme., St George's Hospital hosts one of the largest critical care services in the UK. This includes three major adult intensive care units, multiple satellite
critical care areas, and paediatric and neonatal ICUs. These units support the Trust in providing a range of regional specialist services, including major trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, paediatric and neonatal surgery, and complex interventional cardiology and neuroradiology.
