37.5 hours per week 24-hour As part of unplanned mental health services in Doncaster we are able to offer a rare opportunity for motivated professionals to join Doncaster Crisis Team. The role will involve the triage assessment and intervention of service users in crisis and will involve telephone, home visits and assessments in A&E. We are seeking to recruit dynamic and positive practitioners to support in this new service. We are looking to recruit a permanent Band 6 qualified practitioner who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to join our busy team and who has a passion and desire to work with individuals in crisis within the community delivering a caring and safe service., We are looking for passionate, reliable and progressive staff who work within a strengths and recovery based approach. Liaison with families and supporting their understanding of crisis management is an important part of the role. The post will require individuals to work alongside partner organisations, third sector and peer support services, transparency and openness is vital.   • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Current professional registration
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Risk assessment and management training
  • Safeguarding Level 3
  • Menorship qualification, Therapies skills training/ qualification
  • Psychosocial interventions
  • Suicide prevention training
  • STORM
  • Supervision training, Extensive experience of working in Mental health settings
  • Demonstrable experience of case managing people presenting in mental health crisis
  • Substantial experience of leading in risk assessment and risk management planning
  • Co-producing care plans and crisis plans alongside client and families
  • Multi-agency working
  • Experience of working across service boundaries with local authorities, voluntary sector and peer support services
  • Involving service users and carers in care delivery, Experience of working within a crisis service
  • Experience of acute inpatient experience
  • Working with service users and carers in service improvement
  • Values based recruitment, Excellent knowledge of mental illness, signs and symptoms
  • Excellent mental health assessment and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent Knowledge of a range of evidence based treatments and therapies relevant to service
  • Excellent knowledge around harm minimisation
  • Understanding of self-harming behaviours and the management of this
  • Experience of working with trauma and a high degree of knowledge
  • Models of care relevant to working with people in mental health crisis
  • A sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act
  • A sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
  • Knowledge of the current policy and guidance in relation to the development of Mental Health Services
  • Excellent knowledge of community resources both statutory and non- statutory
  • Detailed understanding of the principles of recovery
  • Evidence of continuing professional development, Family education training
  • Care Act

  • Experience of working within Trauma informed services, Assessing, formulating and working with people presenting in heightened state of distress
  • Clinical risk assessment and contingency planning
  • Excellent defensible record keeping
  • Brief psychological interventions/strategies for managing crisis
  • Self-harm / harm minimisation skills
  • Ability to manage high expressed emotions and severely challenging behaviours
  • Ability to provide appropriate education and training to qualified and unqualified staff as appropriate
  • Communicating (oral and written) complex/highly technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
  • Ability to understand the importance of relatives and partners involvement in care and risk assessment and management planning
  • Ability to undertake a full range of physical interventions e.g. moving and handling and reducing restrictive interventions
  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organisation
  • Ability to value diversity and respond constructively to discriminatory behaviour
  • Ability to deal with verbal aggression
  • To have excellent engagement abilities
  • To poses an interest in individuals and a passion for delivering high quality services
  • To work as part of an MDT
