Full Job Description

You will take ownership of the design, development and validation of credit risk scorecards across both acquisition and existing customer portfolios, supporting BT's transition to more sophisticated, customer-level risk assessment. This includes setting the strategic direction for associated policy rules, ensuring they work coherently with the models, meet responsible lending standards, and remain aligned with BT's risk appetite and regulatory obligations. You will lead the full lifecycle of model delivery, from robust data design and sourcing, including credit reference agency activity, through to technical implementation with BT's systems teams to ensure accuracy, stability and strong governance. You will also develop automated monitoring and diagnostic tools to track performance, identify emerging risks and enable timely remediation, while acting as a subject matter expert on the safe and effective use of open banking data to enhance modelling capability. This work sits at the heart of a major strategic priority for BT and requires deep modelling expertise and sustained analytical focus. By owning this agenda, you will help deliver fairer, more consistent credit decisions, reduce operational risk and strengthen the foundations for long-term growth. The six-month assignment offers hands-on involvement in a high-profile transformation programme, with exposure across multiple functions and regular engagement with senior leaders, making it a strong opportunity for an experienced credit risk modeller seeking visible, meaningful impact.
