Full Job Description
A unique Independent school in Barnet is seeking a creative and scholarly English Teacher for a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026. This position is perfect for a practitioner who loves the literary canon and wants to teach in a boutique setting where students are genuinely passionate about discussion and critical analysis.,
- Deliver a knowledge-rich English curriculum across KS3 to KS5, focusing on critical theory and historiography.
- Foster high-level communication skills by encouraging students to share ideas and speak out with confidence.
- Oversee student-led publications, literary magazines, or creative writing clubs.
- Contribute to a broad enrichment programme, linking Literature to drama and social history.
- Work with a supportive leadership team that prioritizes professional trust and staff wellbeing.
Degree in English Literature or a related field. - PGCE or QTS.
- Ability to inspire a deep love for reading and critical interpretation.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
Full-time, permanent contract. - Competitive salary scale set above the state equivalent + Bespoke School Allowance.
