Full Job Description
As part of this exciting project, we are looking to recruit two part time producers to deliver this programme. The purpose of this role is to co-create; project manage and deliver the programme. In addition to delivering, there is capacity to support this role with their own creative careers. Duties will include:
- To promote and raise awareness of the project and library services in Sandwell
- To assist the Cultural Development Officer in the coordination and delivery of the project aimed at ages 0-25
- To take day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of the project, including coordination and delivery of activities for ages 0-25
- To take part in mentorship and training programmes aimed at enhancing creative practice
At least two years' experience of providing direct services to the public and project managing experience in arts/cultural settings and experience as a facilitator / workshop leader working with children and families - Experience of co-operating with others as part of a team
- Project management and event/activity delivery for children and young people
- Able to use Excel, Word, the internet to search for information and send emails
- Able to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends and at different locations, as required
Sandwell Libraries has received Arts Council England Project funding for its project, Making it in Sandwell. Making it in Sandwell is an artist-led co-created 12-month festival celebrating Sandwell's diverse industrial and arts heritage both past and present. It will be delivered in libraries at the heart of our communities through participatory events and creative career workshops aimed at young people and families in towns with limited cultural activity on their doorstep. Local artists will co-create the programme whilst being supported in their practice to forge their creative careers in Sandwell.
