Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. Working under the guidance of teaching staff and school leaders, you will supervise classes, support student engagement and maintain a positive learning environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring students remain on task.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
• Supporting individual students and small groups to access learning effectively.
• Assisting with the organisation of daily cover arrangements alongside the Cover Officer.
• Providing administrative support to teaching staff where required.
• Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits and enrichment activities.
  
  Has experience working with or supporting young people.
• Can confidently lead a classroom and maintain positive learning environments.
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is organised, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure.
• Demonstrates resilience, professionalism and a calm approach to challenges.
