Dash Express is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. As a Cover Delivery Driver, you will provide flexible support across multiple delivery operations, including multi-drop parcel delivery and 2-person crew deliveries of large goods. You will play a vital role in ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time, while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This role requires adaptability, reliability, and a willingness to undertake a variety of delivery duties based on business needs. We provide everything you need to succeed, including a modern fleet, fuel, uniform, and operational support infrastructure. Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections of parcel-sized good efficiently and on schedule.
- Support 2-person crew deliveries, including the delivery, assembly, and installation of large goods such as furniture, electrical items, and sports equipment within customers' homes.
- Load and offload vehicles, handling both high-volume parcels and large/heavy items, using correct manual handling techniques and equipment.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed in line with company standards, health & safety procedures, and road traffic laws.
- Accurately check and scan items out for delivery using a handheld terminal (HHT), reporting any discrepancies to your Line Manager.
- Complete pre-departure vehicle checks to ensure your vehicle is safe to operate and report any problems to you Line Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service, always acting as a professional and courteous representative of the business.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management, including reporting issues during the working day.
- Report any problems to your line manager throughout the day.
- At the end of day, you will return to depot, unload and label any of non-deliveries and ensure all deliveries are accounted for on the HHT.
- Attend driver briefings and debriefings with the manager on duty.
- Ensure vehicle is cleaned and refuelled for next day.
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to support different delivery operations. - A full UK driving licence.
- The physical ability to manually lift and move sometimes heavy consignments.
- Previous driving experience.
- Good time keeping and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to provide support to our customers on the phone and in person.
- All of our staff must pass a basic DBS check.
