Full Job Description
- Act as the principal counterparty credit risk subject-matter expert and first point of contact for technical, regulatory and implementation matters
- Interpret regulatory requirements and establish clear, practical positions for their application across risk methodologies, models, data, systems, processes and controls
- Set the technical direction for implementation, defining expected outcomes, key design principles and acceptance criteria
- Provide effective review and challenge of proposed solutions, identifying gaps, inconsistencies and unintended risk consequences
- Resolve complex counterparty credit risk questions and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior collaborators and governance forums
- Connect specialists across Risk, Finance, Technology, Data and the business, ensuring decisions reflect a coherent front-to-back risk view
- Lead the development of high-quality technical documentation, regulatory evidence, policies, standards and implementation guidance
- Build counterparty credit risk capability across the organisation through coaching, knowledge sharing and effective engagement with senior and non-technical audiences Why join us? - Deep counterparty credit risk expertise, including exposure measurement, risk drivers, modelling concepts, traded products and the associated prudential framework
- Proven experience acting as a senior subject-matter expert on complex counterparty credit risk, model, regulatory or risk-transformation initiatives
- Strong ability to interpret complex requirements, form defensible technical judgements and translate them into practical implementation guidance
- Credibility to provide constructive challenge, influence senior collaborators and represent counterparty credit risk matters in governance forums
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex risk concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- A strong understanding of the interaction between risk methodologies, models, data, technology, controls and front-to-back operating processes
- Strong understanding of key CCR exposure and capital models such as PFE, IMM, SACCR and desirable if knowledge of XVA pricing
- Good understanding of Traded Products And any experience of these would be really useful:
- Experience shaping the technical interpretation and implementation of a significant counterparty credit risk or material model change
- Detailed understanding of counterparty credit risk models, regulatory permissions, model governance and supervisory expectations
- Experience supporting regulatory submissions, remediation activity or direct engagement with regulators and independent assurance teams
- Familiarity with the data and technology architecture supporting counterparty credit risk measurement and management We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds.
