Counsellor

We are looking to appoint a part-time Counsellor to provide a professional and confidential counselling service primarily to our pupils, working under the guidance of and reporting to the Head of Counselling and alongside the pastoral and teaching staff at LEH Senior School.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience and previous experience of counselling with young people in an education environment, especially in the 11 -18 age range. They should hold a recognised counselling qualification to at least Level 4 Diploma level and specialised (additional) counselling training in working with young people/child development. Experience working with adults would be advantageous, as the counsellor may also be working with staff.

This is a permanent, part-time post (term time only). The required working hours are 21 hours per week, from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday - Tuesday and 8.30am to 3:00 pm on Wednesday. There may be some flexibility for a job share to cover these hours, which can be discussed at interview. The salary is £17,102 - £18,295 pro rata (0.41 FTE), based on a full-time equivalent salary of £41,712 - £44,621 per annum (dependent on experience). A contribution to monthly Clinical Supervision will be funded up to 1.5 hours per month for the 21 hour role (pro rata for job share). What we offer:
