Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Counselling Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Therapist in a multi-disciplinary team that warmly welcomes psychological ideas and practices. We are seeking to appoint a band 7 psychological practitioner to work in the Salford Division at Ramsgate House Community Mental Health Team. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and supportive team as we work towards community transformation and supporting the inclusion of the core therapeutic modalities in line with the Trust's strategic aims. We are focused on staff wellbeing, offering clinical, line management and peer supervision sessions., The post holder will primarily be responsible for providing:

  • High-quality and evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for people experiencing mental health problems (including difficulties associated with psychosis, bipolar, trauma and complex and emotional relational needs) who access support via the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
  • As the community transformation project develops, the post holder will be expected, when possible and appropriate, to contribute to the provision of evidence-based psychological interventions via a specialist hub (i.e. a collaborative specialist team approach).
  • The post holder will also:
  • Be willing to undertake (if not already trained) a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder and subsequently provide CBT-P/BD assessments and interventions.
  • Deliver or be willing to train in other psychological therapies provided in line with the community transformation project.
  • Function as an integral member of the service's multi-disciplinary team
  • Promote psychological understanding and a trauma informed and recovery focused service.
  • Promote the flexible and responsive development of psychologically informed service delivery via their direct and indirect work, and via liaison with other services within GMMH.

    You will need to be an individual who is flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. In addition, you will need to be organised, able to prioritise and work well under pressure. You will also need to be able to work effectively through offering psychological assessment and intervention collaboratively with individuals and their families/carer's promoting independence and recovery. You will also have a strong sense of initiative and an excellent team working ability. In line with the Trust's strategy of developing a core offer of evidence-based psychological therapies, you will need to be trained or willing to train in other therapies available.
