Full Job Description

This exciting new post will both support the delivery of the CoSTED Project at Lewisham hospital (UHL) for 4 days a week and provide outreach support for the Lewisham Stop Smoking Team for the remaining day.

The CoSTED project provides free e-cigarettes to smokers whilst they wait in the Emergency Department.The role will involve supporting the project facilitator by engaging patients into the project, providing advice, support and follow up, whilst maintain accurrate records in Quit Manager and iCare.

Having strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience, as well as being a trained stop smoking advisor, are vital for this post., To proactively engage patients whilst they are waiting in the Emergency Department into the project.

To provide evidence-based behavioural support and advice to help smokers to swap to using vapes.

To assist in the management of the vapes stocks by recording and monitoring usage and accurately updating records.

To keep accurate and detailed records of the interventions that were provided.

To deliver community outreach sessions and support promotion of the stop smoking team across Lewisham.

To help design and distribute promotional materials., 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of trust staff through training and development
5. Making equalities mainstream
