Introduction
As a Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Apprentice, you’ll be part of the team helping drive positive change across Lanes Group and its wider businesses. You’ll work closely with the Group Head of ESG, supporting initiatives that improve how we operate socially, environmentally and ethically.
About the Employer
Lanes Group is the largest independent National Drainage Company. We have over 2200 employees across the country working on a number of different contracts, which include Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, United Utilities. We have a £200 million+ turnover.
What You'll Do
- Support the Group Head of ESG with admin tasks and help collect great examples of the positive work happening across the business
- Help build a network of community and sustainability champions across different teams
- Get involved in raising awareness of sustainability and social responsibility, helping employees understand how they can make a difference
- Deliver and support simple, engaging training to help people understand sustainability and why it matters
- Help turn real projects and activities into case studies and stories that showcase the impact our teams are making
- Support initiatives that bring our ESG strategy to life in a practical way
- Work with teams like HR, Learning & Development, HSEQ and
- Finance to gather information and share ideas
- Support bid teams by helping pull together information on our sustainability performance and commitments
- Connect with local community groups and organisations to support volunteering and social value activities
- Help teams take part in community and environmental projects that make a real difference
- Carry out research to understand sustainability trends, rules and best practice
- Keep up to date with new ideas and support the team in improving how we work
- Complete all required apprenticeship learning, assignments and off-the-job training
- Participate in regular reviews with line manager and training provider

- Apply learning in the workplace to continuously develop HR knowledge, skills and behaviours
Training Outcome
