This is an exciting opportunity for a bright and ambitious graduate to join the finance team supporting CACI's Consumer & Market Intelligence (CMI) division - a high-profile, multi-million-pound analytics and data business.
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the management accounting team, gaining exposure to financial reporting, commercial analysis, and core finance processes.
This role is designed as a development position, with structured training and the opportunity to study towards a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA), with a clear pathway for progression within the team.
The role reports to the Financial Controller and involves working closely with stakeholders across Sales, Delivery, and Central Finance, gaining valuable insight into how finance supports commercial decision-making in a fast-paced, data-driven business. Key Responsibilities
Management Accounting Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for relevant Business Units within the CMI department
Support revenue accounting, including: Learning and applying revenue recognition principles
Setting up new contracts and projects in the finance system
Reviewing contracts and booking monthly revenue postings
Reconciling unbilled revenue and other control accounts Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments Support month-end close processes and reporting timelines Assist in variance analysis and monthly performance reporting
Assist with sales commission calculations
Support timesheet processes and reporting
Assist in preparing forecast and budget information Financial control & business support Help ensure compliance with internal controls (including SOX requirements)
Contribute to maintaining accurate and timely financial data
Build working relationships across Sales, Delivery, and Central Finance
Provide finance support to project teams and operational stakeholder
Provide support during internal and external audit
Other ad-hoc duties as required About You
We are looking for a bright, high-potential graduate with strong analytical ability and a desire to build a career in finance.
Essential: Strong academic background (degree required; Finance/Accounting preferred but not essential)
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong Excel and overall IT skills
Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines Desirable: Relevant internship or placement experience
Exposure to finance or accounting environments
