Corporate Communications Advisor

As Communications Advisor at Indaver, you will work with the people who run our UK business, visit our sites, meet the communities around them and help colleagues understand what is happening across the organisation. You will have your own projects to run. That might mean organising a site visit, shaping an internal communication, supporting a community event, gathering stories from colleagues or coordinating communication around a new development. You will decide how to approach the work, bring the right people together and keep things moving. Your main focus will be the UK. Indaver already operates major facilities at Rivenhall in Essex and Middlewich in Cheshire, with new UK projects in the pipeline. You will also provide back-up for our communications colleagues in Ireland. You will be part of Indaver's international Corporate Communications team and report to the Corporate Communications Manager based in Belgium. You will work with communication colleagues in different countries, exchange ideas and expertise and contribute to communication across the wider Group. We are looking for someone who is ready to take ownership and make communication happen.Role & Responsibilities Your role combines hands-on internal and external communication. You will:

• Own defined communication projects from start to finish. You clarify the brief, organise the work, involve the right colleagues and suppliers, manage deadlines and make sure things get done.
• Strengthen internal communication across our UK organisation. You work with teams such as Operations, HR, Safety and management to turn business information into communication that helps colleagues understand what is happening, why it matters and what they need to know.
• Build connections with the communities around our sites. You help organise community activities, site visits, tours and events, maintain good relationships and look for opportunities to create meaningful dialogue.
• Keep our communication channels useful and relevant. You create, adapt, schedule and publish content across our internal platforms, website and selected social media channels, choosing the channel that best fits the audience and purpose.
• Bring stories to life. You spot interesting people, projects and developments across the organisation and coordinate the communication around them, including presentations, photography, video and other visual content.
• Support colleagues with practical communication advice. You help them sharpen a message, choose an effective approach and communicate clearly with employees, communities and other stakeholders.
• Learn from what works. You monitor relevant statistics and feedback, use them to improve communication and make sensible use of digital and AI tools to work more effectively.
You will not be expected to know everything from day one. But you will be expected to take initiative, make sensible day-to-day decisions and know when to involve others.,
• You are curious enough to go and find the story rather than wait for it to arrive in your inbox.
• You are comfortable working independently, but you are not a lone operator. You share information, involve colleagues and ask for input when it makes the work better.
• When plans change, as they sometimes do in an operational business, you adjust and move on.

• Have room to grow as your experience and responsibilities develop., You will be based at our Rivenhall Integrated Waste Management Facility in Essex, with hybrid working in line with Indaver's 50:50 policy.
Rivenhall is Indaver's largest Energy-from-Waste facility and a major part of our growing UK presence. You will also support communication for our operation in Middlewich, Cheshire, where Indaver specialises in solvent recycling, as well as new UK projects as they develop. Your closest communication colleagues will not all sit in the same building either. You will work with our team in Ireland and with the wider international Corporate Communications team across Indaver. Your line manager, the Corporate Communications Manager, is based in Belgium.

You don't need to have experience of completing every task on this list in order to apply, what matters most is a solid communications foundation and a drive to learn more and take on new challenges.,
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Around 3 to 5 years of relevant communications experience.
• Experience coordinating communication activities and events or smaller projects with a good degree of independence.
• Strong organisational skills. You can juggle different priorities without losing sight of deadlines or detail.
• The confidence to approach people, ask questions, build relationships and work with colleagues at different levels of an organisation.
• An interest in internal communication, community engagement and communication in an operational or industrial environment.
• Practical experience with a mix of digital communication tools and channels, such as CMS platforms, social media, Microsoft 365, Canva or similar tools.
• Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
