Full Job Description
Dartford Borough Council are looking for a Corporate Building Surveyor to join their Property Services team. This role will be responsible for managing the maintenance and improvement of the Council's Corporate Property portfolio. This includes organising, managing and inspection of responsive and planned maintenance repairs, capital improvement works and programmes, statutory compliance testing and inspections to the Councils corporate property portfolio. Specifically, this will include;
- The preparation and writing of specifications, contract documents and tender documents and managing the procurement process including evaluation of the quotations and tenders and letting the contract to project management and completion.
- Placing official orders with contractors and consultants.
- Day to day management of Health and Safety of contractors, consultants and projects.
- Communicating, Managing and dealing with all specialist contractors
- Formulating applications to; building control, planning, listed building consent, the environment agency and business cases.
- Day to day management of contractors and consultants
- Day to day supervision of corporate admin assistant
- Management of budgets
- Organising and chairing of contract performance meetings
- Contractor performance monitoring and reporting, This post is considered by DBC to be a customer-facing position.
