Coroners Court Officer

• Respond to requests from the Coroner: Support the delivery of inquests by fulfilling specific requests, such as preparing documents or facilitating proceedings.
• Read statements and provide copies of evidence; ensure that all necessary materials are available for the smooth functioning of court sessions.
• Manage attendees' emotional responses; handle scenarios such as comforting a distressed family member, coordinating with legal representatives, or de-escalating tense situations.
• Prepare the courtroom:; complete all required administrative tasks and ensure the courtroom is ready before attendees are allowed access.
• Oversee the jury: Guide jurors throughout the hearing and ensure they understand their responsibilities and obligations., This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting families during a challenging time. • Ability to drive and have access to a vehicle to access court locations across the Greater Lincolnshire area, In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
