Control Room Tactical Lead

Working within a busy and dynamic Control Room environment, you will act as the principal tactical advisor, providing expert guidance on security operations and incident management. You will play a pivotal role in supporting operational decision-making, including managing resources during the initial stages of incidents, directing staff deployment where required, maintaining accurate resourcing data, and ensuring effective communication between the Control Room, operational teams and senior management. The role may also involve supporting operational assurance activity, including investigations where required., Represent the Civilian Guard Force within the facility Control Room.

-Provide tactical advice and guidance during security incidents and operational events.

-Monitor ongoing security operations and recommend appropriate responses.

-Support the management of incidents, escalations, and operational decision-making.

Resource Management

-Manage and coordinate staff and operational resources during the initial stages of incidents, including directing deployment where required.

-Manage, maintain and update accurate resourcing data to support effective planning, reporting, and operational decision-making.

-Identify and escalate resourcing gaps, risks or pressures to Operations Managers and relevant stakeholders.

Operational Assurance

-Support operational assurance activity across the Civilian Guard Force, helping to maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

-Review operational information, reports and records to identify trends, risks, learning opportunities, and areas for improvement.

-Provide proportionate assurance support where required, including a review of investigation-related information where it supports operational learning or decision-making.

Governance & Reporting

-Conduct quality reviews of operational reports submitted by officers.

-Identify trends, learning opportunities, and areas for continuous improvement.

-Provide professional advice on operational reports, information and intelligence, investigation findings, and improvement recommendations.

-Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and policies.

Stakeholder Engagement

-Attend daily security and operational meetings.

-Represent the Civilian Guard Force in discussions with key stakeholders.

-Gather, analyse and disseminate relevant operational intelligence.

-Brief Operations Managers and the Head of Operations on incidents, resourcing risks, emerging issues and investigation outcomes where relevant.

Continuous Improvement

-Promote high standards of professionalism and operational excellence.

-Support the development of officers through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.

-Contribute to the review and enhancement of security procedures and operational processes.

-Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Control Room Tactical Lead to join the Civilian Guard Force., This role is ideally suited to an experienced security professional with strong operational judgement, effective resource management skills, excellent analytical ability, and the confidence to influence and advise at all levels., Essential

-Experience within a security, law enforcement, control room, resourcing or operational management environment.

-Strong operational assessment skills, with experience producing, reviewing, or quality assuring detailed reports.

-Experience quality assuring operational reports, resourcing information and/or investigations.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-Ability to assess incidents, analyse information, and provide tactical advice under pressure.

-Strong organisational, analytical, resource management, and decision-making skills.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

-Ability to build positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

-Ability to obtain and maintain DV and NPPV security clearance

Desirable

-Experience within a Command & Control, Security Operations Centre or Control Room environment.

-Experience presenting or briefing senior managers and stakeholders.

-Knowledge of incident management methodologies.

-Experience working within a highly regulated or critical national infrastructure environment.

Salary: £50,000

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (2 Days / 2 Nights, 12-hour shifts)
