Full Job Description
We are looking for an organised, efficient, and experienced Control Room Operator to join our security team for Mitie Business Services. You will be working within a supportive team to maintain and monitor CCTV, intruder, and fire alarm panels. Main duties:
- Monitor operational CCTV camera images within the Security Control Centre remit.
- Effectively operate CCTV cameras, access control technologies, and other security control room technologies.
- Provide a high level of customer service to clients.
- Complete administrative tasks as required to a high standard.
- Interact with emergency services as needed.
- Perform monitoring tasks in accordance with standing operational procedures.
- Control CCTV cameras to conduct necessary patrols.
- Inspect equipment for failures and faults.
- Arrange for the collation and viewing of CCTV images for incident investigation.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all events.
- Inform other team members of actions to ensure operational continuity.
- Follow set procedures in the event of incidents or emergencies.
- Provide an immediate response to major or minor incidents within the operational region.
- Follow reasonable instructions from Security Supervisors and reasonable Senior Line Management requests General Security:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of site job descriptions and ensure adherence to data protection and GDPR regulations.
- Review CCTV footage when requested and prepare evidence for investigations.
- Ensure all visitors to the Security Control Room are logged and recorded.
- Record and handle lost property as necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with local security, police teams and the client.
- Report suspicious packages, vehicles, or individuals and escalate as needed.
- Always carry a radio while on duty. Team:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required shift paperwork.
- Set and maintain professional standards of conduct and address any inappropriate behaviour.
- Ensure patrols are completed and recorded.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support as needed.
- Proactively monitor the Lloyd's building and surroundings, reporting any unusual activity.
- Assist in post-incident debriefings to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Along with the supervisor assist in checking all operatives are following SIA requirements and have their licenses on their person. Person Specification:
- Possess a valid SIA and CCTV License.
- Have experience working in a Security Control Room.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess leadership skills.
- Be able to organize and manage workloads effectively.
- Be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Set and maintain high standards.
- Adhere to Mitie's Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Your key responsibilities will include assisting with daily operational requirements - ensuring compliance and accurate recording of incidents to outline identified risks. As part of your role, you will be required to escalate incidents, report Health and Safety concerns, and respond to emergency situations also producing accurate reports to ensure alarms are efficiently responded to.
