Full Job Description
Chichester District Council's in-house legal department is looking to recruit a Contracts & Procurement lawyer (solicitor, barrister or FCILEX) to assist with its busy caseload of contracts and procurement advice and drafting. This is an opportunity to add real value to public services as you will be advising internal stakeholders on routes to market, subsidy control, framework suitability and negotiating terms as well as drafting contracts for the Council. You will oversee procurement compliance within the organisation. You will be the lead legal advisor on contracts in relation to redevelopment projects. You will be well-versed in giving risk-aware advice that enables your clients to take important strategic decisions for the Council. Candidates should have experience in reviewing frameworks and contract terms, advising on procurement law in a public sector context and drafting contracts and partnership agreements. Experience of inter-authority agreements and JCT contracts would be an advantage. We are looking for a team member who is flexible in their attitude and cares about delivering a quality legal service that ultimately benefits the community by supporting vital public services.
