Your role:

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of repairs delivery across Wigan Council's housing stock. You will lead teams that manage both principal contractor contracts and a specialist contractor framework.

You will drive service excellence through robust governance, performance management, data analysis and collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders within Housing.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on influence, transformation, and impact. You will be responsible to ensure that services meet statutory requirements, demonstrate impact on outcomes, and support continuous improvement, whilst providing strategic oversight to senior leaders and elected members.

You will be a confident leader, passionate about delivering an excellent 'right first time' repairs service to our residents, customers and communities.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in contract management, performance improvement, procurement and team management with a Housing setting.

Most importantly, you will share our values, embrace Team Wigan behaviours and help us deliver our Progress with Unity vision to make a real difference for residents and communities., This is an exciting time to join the Contracts: Housing Repairs team as we develop a new team structure and procure contractors to support repairs delivery across the councils housing stock.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the services you are responsible for, closely working with colleagues to understand wider service impact, develop sustainable processes and deliver against KPIs.

The role caters for hybrid working, whereby your time will be spent either working from home, on site or at the office for approximately 2 days per week.
