We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) within Birmingham City Centre. Our prominent Birmingham city centre site, Sublot 4, cover a 4.5km stretch, bringing HS2 trains into the new Curzon Street station. The site is responsible for three sections of HS2; Curzon Street Station, the Saltley area and Washwood Heath. The work involves the construction of viaducts, underbridges, overbridges, river diversions and retaining structures. As a Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE), you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily technical and engineering activities for a specific sublot, focusing on civil engineering construction where it interfaces with rail works on the BBV JV HS2 project. Experienced required

• Degree-qualified engineer (Chartered/Incorporated preferred) with strong civil engineering background in live rail environments
• Proven expertise in design, construction, compliance, and quality management of complex infrastructure projects
• Familiar with railway standards (e.g. NR/L2/CIV/003, NR/L2/INI/02009), Temporary Works (BS5975), CDM & CSM-RA
• Skilled in technical procurement, subcontractor oversight, and multidisciplinary coordination
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
• Competent in overseeing engineering activities across safety, cost, quality, and programme

About Balfour Beatty VINCI Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI's role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
• 9.3km of viaducts
• 62 overbridges
• 35 cuttings
• 56 culverts
• 62 embankments
• 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
• 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses
