Full Job Description

Are you an experienced construction or contract works professional with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality improvements to customers' homes?

The Role

We're looking for a Contract Works Supervisor to help oversee the delivery of planned refurbishment programmes across our multi-occupancy buildings and individual homes.

This is a varied role where you'll monitor contractors, project progress, quality, costs and safety to ensure work is completed on time, within budget and to the required standard. You'll help deliver value for money while making sure disruption to customers is kept to a minimum.

You'll work closely with customers, leaseholders, contractors, consultants and colleagues across PCH, including our Asset Data, Finance, Procurement, Health and Safety and Fire Safety teams. You'll also monitor customer satisfaction, respond to concerns and use feedback to improve future programmes. The role reports to the Major Works Projects Manager.

What you'll be doing

As a Contract Works Supervisor, you'll:

Manage and monitor multiple contractors and contracts, helping to resolve issues promptly and constructively

Monitor the quality, progress, cost and overall performance of refurbishment projects

Help ensure programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards

Prepare regular project reports, including progress updates and expenditure forecasts

Raise purchase orders and work with Finance and Asset Data colleagues to maintain accurate project and financial information

Support leaseholder consultation and attend meetings with customers and leaseholders when required

We're looking for someone who combines strong construction and contract knowledge with excellent organisational, analytical and relationship-building skills.

You'll need:

Experience of administering the procedures needed for the effective delivery of construction contracts

Experience of managing and monitoring contractors, consultants and multiple contracts

Experience of cost control and financial reporting during the construction phase

Experience of managing significant budgets

Experience of delivering a resident-focused service, including monitoring satisfaction and resolving complaints

We are the city's largest social housing association, with over 16,000 properties providing homes for more than 35,000 people, and we're aiming to grow to provide more people with high-quality, affordable homes to rent and buy.

With a great workforce and a focus on people, we deliver good-quality, well-managed and well-maintained homes.

What we can offer you

Excellent pension scheme with a high level of employer contributions

Free, fully equipped onsite gym and changing facilities

The opportunity to carry out volunteer work for three days a year through our Make a Difference scheme

Annual leave of 25 days, rising to 30 days, plus Bank Holidays and a holiday trading option

Free Employee Assistance Programme, including free counselling

Free annual flu vaccination

The opportunity to work in a beautiful and vibrant part of the Southwest

Modern devices and smartphones to support digital working

Modern and spacious offices on a bus route, just three miles from the city centre
