Full Job Description

  • Supervise and manage a team of static engineers, ensuring Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Works are completed safely, on time and in line with contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes.
  • Ensure all required Building Engineering services are delivered in accordance with the Engineering Building strategy; provide engineering support in emergency situations to maintain business and operational continuity.
  • Prioritise Health, Safety, Environment and Quality in all activities.
  • Plan, deliver and review specialist engineering services carried out by internal staff and subcontractors; implement operational policies and procedures in line with contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with Equans Engineers to ensure effective service delivery; support the Contract Manager in responding to customer complaints per Company procedures.
  • Ensure specialist equipment stores are available on site; manage day-to-day running of the day and/or shift team; act as first point of contact for site HR issues.
  • Manage a team to achieve KPIs/SLAs and maintain statutory compliance, including Environmental Health & Safety policy, quality, sustainability and energy efficiency standards (including Legionella management).
  • Assist in producing required documentation to record incidents and escalate as required (risk management, operational continuity, and equipment status).
  • Act as Appointed Person/Responsible Person for Technical Disciplines, as required.
  • Manage engineer data and job details in CAFM to keep information current and accurate for operational resilience and completion of works.
  • Assist the Contract Manager in supervising subcontractors and specialist providers and liaise with other project teams to support activity.
  • Build strong relationships with Engineering Services and the wider Equans Group to ensure a consistent approach to delivery.
  • Drive maintenance policy, including spares planning, time management concepts and analysis of complex information to inform sound recommendations.
  • Participate in 24/7 maintenance cover (including on-call rota) and contribute to emergency and contingency plans; provide written reports as required.
  • Proactively manage preventative and corrective maintenance with a strong customer focus.
  • Identify and manage a Critical Spares strategy; carry out sub-contractor audits and statutory maintenance activities.
  • Support area teams and contribute to the Company Values; lead the team to work with other service teams to promote positive customer relations.
  • Monitor quality and performance, ensure KPIs are achieved and reporting is completed; monitor staff and contractor performance as required.
  • Provide information and reporting to the Contract Manager; prepare reports and audits on specialist sub-contractors.
  • Act as focal point for site H&S management, ensuring RAMS are in place and followed; ensure technical appointments are current and respond to information requests from SHEQ.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policy, PPE safety, and timely reporting of accidents and near misses; ensure calibration of test equipment.
  • Develop trusting relationships with key stakeholders, respond promptly to requests, and act as the first point of customer escalation on the contract.
