Full Job Description
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the contractual relationship with the Authority under the Project Agreement. This role acts as the key liaison with the client, delivering contractual and commercial obligations, ensuring compliance, value for money, and effective governance. The role supports strategic board reporting and contributes to the overall commercial success of the contract.
Responsibilities Be the primary point of contact with the Authority.
Build and maintain strong relationships to promote client satisfaction and continuity.
Attend and contribute to monthly progress meetings with the Authority.
Report to the Strategic Board, prepare and present Strategic Board papers.
Manage the Contractor's responsibilities under the Project Agreement.
Monitor service delivery and performance under the contract, ensuring contractual compliance.
Assist in interpreting, applying, and negotiating the Project Agreement and related documentation, including variations and major changes.
Take commercial responsibility for actions that ensure budgeted returns to Shareholders.
Support commercial risk management and mitigation across the contract.
Monitor progress of the project and ensure internal and statutory reporting obligations are met.
Maintain and annually update the Process Manual, ensuring alignment with evolving contract needs and standards. Qualifications Degree in Business, Commercial Management, or a related field.
Desirable: MRICS, CIPS, or equivalent professional accreditation. Skills & Experience Demonstrable experience in contract management or commercial oversight within a complex, regulated environment.
Strong understanding of PPP/PFI contracts or equivalent public-private partnership models.
Skilled in stakeholder management, negotiation, and client interface.
Excellent written communication, particularly in preparing board-level reporting.
Financial and analytical acumen; able to monitor contract budgets and returns.
