Full Job Description
Looking for a varied role where you can make a real impact? Join Shropshire Council's Property Services Group as a Contract Maintenance Officer and help manage maintenance and compliance contracts that keep hundreds of Council buildings safe, compliant and operational. You'll work with a skilled and supportive team, develop your expertise and contribute to services that support communities across Shropshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Shropshire Council's Property Services Group (PSG) and play an important role in helping to keep our buildings safe, compliant and operational. PSG supports a diverse property portfolio including schools, offices, libraries, leisure facilities and other public buildings used by communities across Shropshire.
As Contract Maintenance Officer, you will support the management of a wide range of maintenance and statutory compliance contracts, working with contractors, colleagues and site contacts to ensure essential services are delivered effectively and issues are resolved promptly.
You will be responsible, under the direction of the PSG Technical and Compliance Team Leader, to support the effective day-to-day management, monitoring and administration of planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance contracts on behalf of the Council and its clients. This includes monitoring contractor performance, reviewing service reports and certification, maintaining accurate plant and asset records, progressing overdue servicing or remedial actions, and supporting the financial administration of contracts through the checking and certification of invoices and quotations.
The role is varied and practical. You will review service reports and certification, maintain accurate records, monitor contractor performance, progress overdue servicing and remedial actions, and support the financial administration of contracts through checking quotations, invoices and supporting information.
You will be joining a supportive and experienced team where your attention to detail, communication skills and organisational ability will help improve how maintenance and compliance services are managed, reported and delivered across the Council's property portfolio.
We would love to get to know you more so please give us a call if you would like to discuss this role or our team. You can contact Luke Blakeway on
