Content Designer

As a Senior Content Designer, you will be responsible for creating, developing and continuously improving user-centred content that supports users throughout their journey. You will take ownership of content quality, using evidence, user research and data insights to inform decisions and drive improvements. Working strategically, you will consider how content journeys align with wider business processes across both informational and transactional services.

You will collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, working closely with user researchers, interaction designers, service designers, product owners and developers to deliver accessible, effective and intuitive services. As part of a well-established content design community, you will share best practice, support and mentor colleagues, and contribute to the development of content standards and services across HMCTS and the wider government profession.

In this role you will

Your role as Senior Content Designer will encompass several key responsibilities listed below (but not limited to):

Develop and implement content strategies that meet user needs, business objectives and support effective customer journeys.

Use user research, feedback, behavioural insights and performance data to continuously improve content and services.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders and partners to deliver clear, user-focused content and promote content design best practice.

Ensure content is accurate, accessible, legally compliant, optimised for search, and adheres to design, style and brand standards.

Take a strategic view of business challenges, wider impacts and long-term outcomes to identify content solutions.

Support the wider content team through peer reviews, content audits, benchmarking and continuous improvement activities.

Proven track record developing content to meet user needs for digital services

Experience working collaboratively in fast-paced agile teams

Strong original writing for different topics, audience groups, purposes, styles and formats

Adept at providing simple, clear content to communicate complex issues

Experience developing content strategies or proposing content solutions to solve business challenges

Confident communicator: able to persuade; negotiate; influence; network; and work with stakeholders

Ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly and clearly, demonstrating expert knowledge in an applied setting

Knowledge of agile ways of working and user-centred content design

Experience scoping, commissioning and editing content

Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting content propositions and deliverables to business leads and stakeholders

Up to date with the latest content trends, ensuring that our solutions respond accordingly

Experience designing and developing workable content prototypes
