Full Job Description
As Consultant Vascular Surgeon, you will join a dynamic multidisciplinary vascular surgical team providing a comprehensive elective and emergency vascular service across York, Scarborough and the wider North Yorkshire area. You will provide inpatient and outpatient vascular assessment, deliver acute and elective open and endovascular intervention, and share 24/7 cover for acute and urgent vascular referrals as a core member of the vascular MDT.
· To manage the day-to-day care of vascular inpatients at York Hospital. · To provide inpatient and outpatient vascular assessment at York Hospital and spoke sites. · To provide acute and elective operative intervention for patients requiring major vascular surgery. · To provide 24/7 cover for acute and urgent vascular referrals. · To provide elective support for complex surgery with the risk of vascular injury for other surgical specialities. · To be a core member of the vascular MDT. · To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners. Whilst clinical commitments are fixed it is possible to move most admin, SPA and non-NHS sessions without difficulty.
