Consultant Urologist - Specialist Interest in Benign Prostatic Surgery

The post will have clinical sessions at both Lewisham & Greenwich NHS trust and at Guy's & St. Thomas' NHS Trust in the Department of Urology, as part of the 'Guy's Urology with LGT' initiative.

The job plan will contain 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week on average, to be carried out Guy's & St Thomas' and Lewisham & Greenwich sites as indicated in the proposed timetable. This includes One Stop clinics, specialist clinics and surgical sessions.

The post includes an 1 in 8 on-call rota at Lewisham and Greenwich trust, working in tandem with the GSTT rota (Category A).

The two trusts will work collaboratively on recruitment, job planning, and shared operational and clinical governance, and are developing a robust and sustainable model for acute pathway care.

The Department of Urology is seeking a new full-time (10 PA) substantive Consultant. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking team working as part of the Guy's Urology Team in partnership with Lewisham and Greenwich Trust (LGT), to provide a 'Guy's Urology with LGT' service.

This initiative is the result of important strategic partnership and will deliver a new, shared clinical service between GSTT and LGT. The two organisations believe that working together will improve access, patient experience and equity for patients across South East London.

The partnership will operate on a hub-and-spoke model, with LGT serving as the primary site for local urology services primarily for Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley; GSTT will act as the hub for higher complexity procedures, with redistribution of appropriate procedures from GSTT to an agreed plan over time.
