The Consultant Team Leader oversees the day-to-day coordination, development and performance of the consultant team, ensuring training and consulting engagements are delivered efficiently and to the expected quality standards. The role focuses on operational management of consultants, supporting their development and maintaining delivery standards across training programmes and client engagements, while escalating strategic capability or resourcing needs to the Operations Director. Scope & Decision-Making Authority Autonomous decision-making Day-to-day management of consultant workloads and delivery schedules Allocation of consultants to projects Monitoring delivery quality and addressing performance issues within the team Supporting consultant development through coaching and feedback Escalation Recruitment decisions and expansion of consultant capability Changes to competence frameworks or training governance processes Significant client issues or delivery risks Engagement of associate consultants or contractors Cross-functional authority Coordinate with commercial and operations teams to align consultant availability with upcoming work Support internal teams (sales, product, marketing) by identifying appropriate consultant expertise for activities Geographic / business scope Consultant team supporting Baines Simmons training and consulting engagements globally Key Relationships Internal Operations Director - team oversight, delivery planning and escalation Consultant team - performance management, coaching and workload coordination Commercial / Sales teams - alignment of consultant availability with client demand HR - recruitment support and onboarding Product and content teams - training material updates feedback External Clients participating in consulting or training programmes Associate consultants supporting delivery activities Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day performance and development of the consultant team, including regular feedback, mentoring and performance discussions. Coordinate consultant workloads and schedules to ensure consulting and training engagements are delivered effectively. Monitor delivery quality across training and consulting engagements and escalate issues where standards are not met. Support the implementation of the consultant competence framework by maintaining training records and tracking development progress. Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities by organising and participating in interviews and supporting the integration of new consultants. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the appropriate consultant expertise is available for business development, marketing and product initiatives. Maintain visibility of upcoming work and identify potential resourcing gaps for escalation to the Operations Director. Maintain pipeline of consultants (including associate consultants) Support the coordination of associate consultants involved in delivery activities. Key Metrics for Success

  • Consistent delivery of consulting and training engagements to agreed quality standards
  • High client satisfaction scores from training and consulting delivery

  • Experience managing or supervising teams in consulting, training or professional services environments
