Full Job Description
The new appointee will be allocated a consultant colleague to mentor and support them when they start.
The candidate will be supporting both the Asthma and Sleep/ NIV service. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop the CPET/Breathlessness Service
The respiratory department operates a phased working job pattern. The appointee will be on ward duty (Respiratory Ward) for 1 week (7 days) at a time on a 1:5 rota. The respiratory consultants contribute equally to a 1:11 rota for respiratory in-reach to the AAU at HRI. 1 PA is allocated for respiratory inreach duties for week days. The workload for this will be variable as per respiratory admissions to the AAU; winter months see a higher number. Respiratory Consultants are helped by a SpR as well and work can be distributed as per requirements. There will be consideration of time off in lieu (such as for weekend working). Six new patients per clinic will be booked as standard. At the start of the post we do not anticipate follow up patients to be booked in to clinic. In due course when follow-up slots are required 1 new patient slot will equate to 2 follow up patients., The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.
Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.
As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
