Main Duties of The Consultant PostConsultant Psychiatrists are a valuable and finite resource within our clinical services and whilst the primary responsibility for every consultant is the delivery of a high-quality clinical service all consultants will be expected to be actively involved in the strategic development of the service and work with their non-medical senior leaders to steer the development of their service in line with the strategic direction of the organisation.

Clinical leadership, innovation and service performance are key components to all our consultant positions. We will provide the necessary training and development opportunities for all Consultants joining the Trust to ensure they are able to deliver these components of their role., The PostThe Peterborough team covers both the Older Adults Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CHRTT-OP) and the Dementia Intensive Support Service (DIST). It forms part of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust's (CPFT) Older People's Mental Health Services and is based at The Cavell Centre. The service provides specialist, multidisciplinary assessment and intensive support for older adults, including people living with dementia, who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis, complex mental health needs or a deterioration in their wellbeing. The team works closely with service users, families, carers and partner agencies to provide timely, coordinated care that supports people to remain safely at home wherever possible and helps reduce the need for hospital admission.
