Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Old Age Psychiatry - Fenland

The successful candidate will work alongside a community-based colleagues to provide assessment and psychiatric treatment for Older Adults within the Fenland community across a largely rural area.

The population of over 65's in the Fenland area is approximately 25 000 out of 113 064. In its entirety, the OPMH team had 912 referrals in the past 12 months. Not all referrals require the consultant to see them, many are managed by other staff in the community team. On average the Fenland OPMH service receives 76 referrals per month, with approx. 9 for psychiatry outpatient and 36 for memory assessment, Clinical:

To lead the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent psychiatric care

To provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans.

To lead weekly MDT meetings and ensure prompt reviews of acutely unwell patients

To work closely with the CRHTT OP, community teams and liaison services as patients move between these teams
