A Vacancy at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Consultant Psychiatrist (General Adult Inpatients) - Blackpool (10 PA)

RRP payment Payable

This post will attract a Recruitment & Retention Premia of £40,000 (subject to tax and NI) payable on commencement of employment. Eligibility criteria do apply. Please note that staff currently employed by the Trust would not be eligible to apply for this recruitment and retention premia.

We are excited to advertise for 2 x General Adult Consultants to join us working in inpatients at The Harbour, Blackpool. The post is substantive and full time (10 PAs). You will be expected to participate on the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.

• Post 1: 18 bedded male acute ward (Churchill)
• Post 2: 18 bedded female acute ward (Stevenson)

Both posts have SAS Doctors and Resident Doctors established.

The Harbour MH Hospital

The Harbour MH hospital is a state-of-the-art unit located just off junction 4 on the M55. The M55 connects with the M6 and is known for being a relatively quiet motorway, with rarely any delays. The Harbour is 2 minutes from Junction 4 off the M55.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Responsible Clinician for a defined caseload.
• Assessment of patients referred by community teams and responsibility for any admissions at the Harbour Hospital.
• Out of Hours Cover.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist register of the GMC or be eligible for entry within 6 months of the interview date. It is required that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment and have or be eligible to obtain Approved Clinician Status.

Remuneration & Benefits

• Remuneration will be in accordance with the terms of the New Consultant Contract, based on previous experience.
• At least 2.5 SPAs as standard for a full-time post, with flexibility for additional support activities.
• Study leave budget of £3,000 over 3 years, or up to £5,000 for newly qualified Consultants.
• Opportunities to be a clinical supervisor (£8,000).
• Relocation package available if needed.
• £40,000 (gross) premia payable on commencement.
