Consultant Psychiatrist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatristto join our integrated mental health team at HMP Askham Grange. HMPAskham Grange is an open category D female prison based in Askham Richard, near York, housing around 120 women. You will be joining an established and experienced team, supporting women aged 18 plus, the site also includes a mother and baby unit. This role has a low volume of patients requiring Psychiatrist support which will enable you to provide consistent and high quality patient care. Hours 1 day per month/ 8 hours To be worked between Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm, As aConsultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
• Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
• Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

  Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
• Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
• Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
• Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
• Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
• Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation

This position is a part time role,you'll receive an annual salary up to£196,736per annum FTE - depending on experience. How will we support you?
• You will be part of a team of 20 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists
• You will be able to attend monthly Consultant's meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.
