Full Job Description
o Senior Psychiatric input and clinical leadership for the locality Multidisciplinary Team. This includes a key role in ensuring that the service as a whole delivers safe and effective care that is acceptable to patients and carers.
o Supervision of psychiatric medical staff working within the Learning Disability Service and specifically the Specialist Doctor working in the West Locality.
o Undertake teaching and educational initiatives to develop skills of the Local Multidisciplinary team and the wider Learning Disability Service.
o Interface with neurology and other health services where needed to facilitate access of service users into services that provide the most appropriate care for people with intellectual disabilities.

The post holder will work with other Consultant Psychiatrist and integrated multidisciplinary teams to meet the specialist healthcare needs of the population of approximately 1.1 million.
