Full Job Description
Successful candidates will complement existing lung cancer team and support developing new specialist services in Asthma, ILD and sleep medicine. Weekday on call commitment. The weekday on call rota (Respiratory only) will be a 1 in 13 providing telephone advice between the hours of 5pm and 9am. Weekend on call commitments. The weekend rota will be a 1 in 6.5 with structured daily commitments both Saturday and Sunday. It is envisaged that the 2 Respiratory Consultants will be physically present on the respiratory wards from 8am to 2pm providing: NIV and new patient review (on the respiratory wards) Review of potential discharges Review of sick patients Board round review of current inpatients MAU in reach (if required) Phone call advice (including out of hours) The weekend on-call commitment is calculated at 0.615 PA, but to maintain a 10 PA working week, time off in lieu or a hybrid of time off in lieu and payment can be offered.
Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), to be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and to be on the Specialist Register for General and Thoracic Medicine, completed CCT or due to obtain their CCT within six months of the date of interview, or Certificate of Eligibility to specialist register CESR, or European Community Rights An Enhanced DBS with barred lists for both Adults & Children is required for this post.
