Full Job Description

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive paediatric respiratory services for Children and Young people, covering all aspects of clinical care, leadership, and associated management responsibilities.
  • Lead and support research activity within the Acute Paediatric service, ensuring alignment with the HDUHB Research and Development framework and informing future service delivery.
  • Develop the respiratory services through effective collaboration with other healthcare providers, external organisations, and agencies.
  • Provide professional leadership for Acute Paediatric teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Work closely with clinical and professional colleagues to maintain the productivity and job satisfaction of Paediatric staff, which may include participating in staff appraisal processes.
  • Represent HDUHB at regional and national groups related to paediatric respiratory, such as Managed Clinical Networks, where appropriate.

    You will play a central role in shaping the future of paediatric respiratory medicine for Hywel Dda. Together, you will provide compassionate, evidence based care to meet the needs of our local population. As part of the role, you will contribute to teaching and training, supporting medical students and junior staff, while also engaging in audit, research, and service development.

  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
  • Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
